4-Anilino-N-phenethyl-4-piperidine (ANPP) / Controlled substance

  • Also known as despropionyl fentanyl, is an immediate precursor in the synthesis of fentanyl. This substance is prosecuted by DEA schedule 2. Referred for some affinity with opioid receptors and analgesic effects, however it is not used clinically. Is not psychoactive in typical exposure scenarios, and its presence in drugs is often incidental due to incomplete purification during fentanyl synthesis
